National Public Health Emergency
States to Get Enhanced Medicaid Funding Through 2021

Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (cbpp.org) explains that the Biden administration plans to keep the COVID public health emergency
in place throughout 2021.
This means that states will continue to receive additional federal reimbursement for Medicaid, that Medicaid benefits cannot be terminated, and that the eligibility rules cannot be made more strict. The Administration told states it would give them at least 60 days notice before declaring the emergency to be at an end.
